Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein execution nears - Hussein could face execution within hours. Hussein attorneys are seeking a temporary restraining order in a U.S. court to block the execution. Hussein was convicted of killings in the Iraqi town of Dujail nearly 25 years ago. The execution won't be broadcast live on TV. The scaffolding where Hussein is to be hanged is ready. At the execution site, a judge, a Muslim cleric and a physician must be present according to Iraqi law. Iraqi law bans executions during holidays, and the Islamic holiday Eid al-Adha begins on Saturday, leading many to believe the execution could take place before then.
I think that Hussein would never think that he will be hanged one day. It incomprehensible that a powerful dictator like Hussein could one day lose his power and became a prisoner. And, he has to face the court judge on his criminal act of killing many innocent Iraq people. Usually, Iraqi government would broadcast the hanging execution of criminal on TV. But for a special case, the only grace Hussein will get is saving his hanging from being shown on Iraqi TV. It quite sad for the final days of this dictator.
