Korean Families losing hope for hostages held by Taliban in Afghanistan - Families say it is "almost impossible to have hope" for Korean hostages. The pastor at the church attended by the hostages and the leader of their group, was shot and killed last week. The bullet-riddled body of the second slain hostage found just hours after Taliban leaders had threatened to kill more of the 22 Korean hostages they have been holding if Afghan leaders did not give in to their demands to release rebel prisoners. Kidnappers want Taliban prisoners released from Afghan jails. The group of 23 Christian Koreans was abducted on July 19.

Police found the abused Kids were adopted for profit inPort St.Lucie, Florida – The police found nine adopted kids with ages ranging from teens to young adults in Judith Leekin's home in Florida. Those kids were often handcuffed, tethered together with plastic ties and allowed to soil themselves. They had scars on their wrists and some had burns. None of them appeared to have more than a fourth-grade education, not even the adults in their 20s. All were starving. Those adoptees were held like the prisoners in Florida home. Leekin allegedly has used adoptions to make money.

Aquafina labels to spell out source - tap water, New York - PepsiCo Inc. will spell out that its Aquafina bottled water is made with tap water, a concession to the growing environmental and political opposition to the bottled water industry. The world's No. 2 beverage company will include the words "Public Water Source" on Aquafina labels. Worries about debt, housing markets send Dow down about 300, New York - The Dow industrials tumbled about 300 points Thursday, one of its biggest losses so far this year, as investors worried that problems in the housing and credit markets would dent the broader economy. The Dow Jones industrial average (down 403.03 to 13,382.04) sank as much as 449 points but pared some losses and was down about 300 points, or 2.2 percent, at the closing bell. The broader S&P 500 (down 31.87 to 1,486.22) plunged 2.4 percent while the tech-laden Nasdaq (down 75.01 to 2,573.16) fell nearly 2.1 percent. The Dow's loss is the second-biggest for the blue-chip average this year.
